Opening of the Vienna Festival 2022

Under the motto “Last Night on Earth”, the opening concert brought together music from three centuries as well as artistic messages from the multifaceted history of the festival.

We supported the opening with professional video and projection technology and contributed to the technical transmission with ORF. A digital 4K fibre optic network was created for this purpose, which distributed and coordinated the signals between the Wiener Festwochen, the ORF and our cameras.

The façade of Vienna City Hall was transformed into optically new objects by the immersive light installation created by “Hand mit Auge”, an association for projection art and audiovisual interaction, with the help of a total of 12 projectors. The interplay of light reflections, light pulses to rhythmic sounds and the stage performance enveloped the visitors in light and sound and offered a unique experience.
